Idiom in Speech

📓 "Idioms in Speech" has been complied as a result of the work done in the course oi several years at classes of Spoken English (2 hrs. a week) with the fourth-year students at the Gorki Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages by C.G.Seredina. The aim of the book is to perfect the speech habits of students on the one hand and to enrich their vocabulary on the other. The book consists of 14 paragraphs. Each paragraph begins with a dialogue, built round a certain number of word combinations and is followed by vocabulary notes giving the definitions of the word combinations. The word combinations are illustrated by sentences drawn in the main from modern English and American writers. Every paragraph includes various exercises all aimed at helping the students to remember the phrases given in each paragraph and at the same time to increase their practical skills.
