🔖 Book # 1 of Amnesia Husband is complete in itself, as are all of the books in this series. Detective writer Roy Anderson is struck with meningitis and is left with most of his memories gone. In their place have come memories of things he has read. As he meets neighbor after neighbor, his mind assigns roles for them in his family. Believing himself to be a real detective, he starts up a junior detective club for himself and Lee Ann and the "grandchildren". On one side of their house lives his imagined daughter and family. On the other side is the crotchety, proper British man and gentle wife, whom Roy believes to be his parents. Lee Ann tries to keep ahead of Roy and warn the people, but never seems to get to them before Roy does. She asks them to enter Roy's world, without lying. She herself studies I Corinthians 13:4-8 to learn how to love this husband of hers according to God's love. As the weeks press on, the neighborhood must decide whether or not to become the family Roy imagines it to be.
