📖 Web 2.0, the second generation of World Wide Web, has had a profound impact on the services of academic libraries. Its philosophy of two-way communication has made users more closer to library staff. This book is an outcome of the author's postdoctoral research at the Department of Information Studies, Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, University of California, Los Angeles, USA. The study was conducted in three parts, (a) an analytical review of the literature on the topic, (b) an analysis of the Websites of academic libraries which were members of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), and (c) a questionnaire survey of ARL academic libraries. The book is useful for practitioners, students and policy makers in the field of library and information science.
