📖 The posterior maxilla presents several challenges to the implantologist of which pneumatisation of the maxillary sinus is one such problem. The management of this problem in the most atraumatic way is important for long-term success of implants placed in this region. Implant dentistry has become an excellent treatment modality since its inception into the modern era of dentistry. Surgical technique that allowed the elevation of the sinus membrane and implant placement in the same surgical appointment has become routine procedure since last decade. The procedure may be one stage (i.e. placement of implant and graft material in one surgical procedure) or two-stage (i.e. implants are placed after few months of graft maturation). Sinus lift surgery can be done using different surgical techniques, viz. crestal approach (Osteotome technique, Cosci technique) lateral window technique, newer techniques such as Balloon Sinus lift, Sinus lifting by piezosurgery, Hydraulic sinus lift, etc. This book covers a detail description of all these techniques and materials and can surely be a handy for dental surgeons in general and the implantologist in particular.
