📙 The studies indicated that sympodial branches had strong positive correlation with plant height, monopodial branches and number of bolls per plant while it negatively correlated with number of seeds per lock, number of seeds per boll and boll weight. Plant height had strong positive association with bolls per plant. The number of locks per boll had positive correlation with boll weight and number of seeds per boll while it negatively correlated with tapering boll shape. Number of seeds per boll correlated positively with boll weight and lint percentage. Number of seeds per lock had strong positive association with number of seeds per boll and boll weight. Number of seeds per boll correlated positively with boll weight. Lint percentage had no association with any of the traits studied. Fibre length correlated positively with fibre strength while these traits had no correlation with any plant morphological trait.
