📒 Winnie-the-Pooh is the most popular children's book in the Faroe Islands. It is also the most popular children's book in the world, but it is especially popular in the Faroe Islands. Faroese Language is spoken by 66,000 people primarily in the Faroese Islands. It is a North Germanic language spoken by about 66,000 people, 45,000 of whom reside on the Faroe Islands and 21,000 in other areas, mainly Denmark. It is one of five languages descended from Old Norse, the others being Norwegian and Icelandic. Faroese and Icelandic, its closest extant relative, are not mutually intelligible in speech, but the written languages resemble each other. There are also speakers in Denmark among the Faroe Islanders who have immigrared there. As with most other Germanic languages, Faroese has a large number of vowels, with 26 in total.
