📕 Seek First the Kingdom began as a Bible study in a small local church, but it teaches that we are not really members of a local church, and our allegiance is not really to our pastor or to some creed or doctrine. Our membership is in the Body of Christ, the Church with a capital C. Our allegiance is only to Him. We believe this, but there are too many inner voices competing for our attention. Seek First the Kingdom will help us recognize the voice of the Good Shepherd by the leading of the Holy Spirit, knowing that He wants this relationship even more than we do. He will protect us from those competing inner voices, keep us from being deceived, and ultimately draw us to Himself. Author Paul Lindberg says, “I have been a Christian as long as I can remember, having been reminded often as a child, ‘You are not your own. You belong to God.’” At age twelve, his journey toward heeding the voice of the Holy Spirit started when God began teaching him to deal scripturally with his sin. Since then, God has spoken to him many times, building squarely on the foundation of the Holy Bible and leading him to write many things including The Gospel of the Kingdom, The Feasts of Israel, God’s Plan of the Ages, The Seven Spirits of God (from the sermons of J. Preston Eby), and The Day I Bought the Farm.
