This study aims to explore the causes which force them to live like animals and die helplessly in the end. It also investigates the aspects of evaluation in characterization of workers through The Hairy Ape by Eugene O'Neil (1888-1953). It needs to know that workers or laborers develop such low beliefs whether due to parents, close people, society or wholly and solely they themselves are responsible for it. Theory of self-identity by psychologist, Henri Tajfel (1919-1982) and environmental effects, a part of Darwin's theory will be applied to examine the characters and their lives in light of theoretical framework in the play.
