The following partial resume of doctrine taught at the Kriegsakademie is a practical adaptation of relevant parts of Truppenfuhrung (the German tactical 'bible' similar in matter and precept to the U.S.'s own FM 100-5, Field Service Regulations, Operations). Topics include: post of the commander, duties of the staff, estimate of the terrain, concealment, combat intelligence, principles of communication, estimate of the situation, the decision, field orders, marches, various types of battle, the attack, the defense, delaying action, retreat-retirement, and employment of field artillery. Please note these are copies of important historical documents that have been extensively cleaned up by the publisher.
