This is Ray's story of making it through that night and beyond--through the Depression and World War II years, emerging as a leader in public school, working his way through college, leaving the university for two years as a national student leader (1950's), practicing law (1961-1988), serving in the Texas State Senate (1975-1988), and working as Vice Chancellor and General Counsel of the University of Texas System (1988-2000).
