📗 Excerpt from Historiettes Modernes, Vol. 2Hen in November, 1888, the first volume of these Histofiettes was published, I stated that the work would soon be continued; it is to fulfil that promise that this second volume is now issued. In the last eighteen months the first volume has gone through four editions. I only wish that the present volume may meet with an equally kind reception. I have again to thank Profs. O. B.
