📖 This book was written as a partial fulfillment for achieving the degree of Master of Science in Fisheries. The demand for fish in Bangladesh is increasing day by day and reversely the total amount of capture fish is decreasing dramatically. The present fish production is mostly depending on culture practices. In Bangladesh polyculture is one of the most practiced culture technique and following the extensive, improve extensive and semi intensive management systems, inputs use and extent of control exercised over the culture environment through which maximum out-put can be obtained. Currently the price of all inputs have increased sharply. So it has been important to identify a low cost culture technology against maximum production. This study was performed to compare the growth, production and economics of carps polyculture under fertilized and supplementary feeding conditions. After successful completion of the study it was found that only supplementary feeding in polyculture recorded higher yield of pond stocks than the fertilized pond stocks. So we conclude that supplementary feeding can be a comparatively low cost technology in aspect of Bangladesh.
