📓 This book describes the marine life and chemistry of the Gulf of Aqaba and Ras Mohammed (South Sinai), Red Sea, Egypt during 2009. Regarding the coral reef ecosystem, it provides a quantification of stony corals, black corals, soft corals and gorgonians. In addition, it quantifies the percentage of live corals, dead corals, bare rocks, rubbles, sands, echinoderms, molluscs, ascidians, sponges, crevices, boring worms, algae, anemones and broken corals. It also quantifies other bottom fauna and marine phytoplanktons. Regarding the chemistry of the area, the book provides estimates of temperature, pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen, nutrients (ammonia,nitrite, nitrate, phosphate), total hydrocarbons in water and sediments, and heavy metals.
