📘 Study was made to check and evaluate the occupational safety, health and environmental practices at fertilizer producing industries Sindh, Pakistan. For this purpose plant survey was made, questionnaires were distributed among top management and the employees to assess the current status of safety, health and environment (SHE). Company was following all the recommended laws and policies related to SHE that include OSHA, ISO and NEQS etc. In different lab analysis it was observed that all environmental parameters including pH, TSS, TDS, BOD, and COD etc were under NEQS limit except ammonia concentration in plant effluent, that some time exceeded the recommended limit. Physical parameters were also determined by direct reading instruments, provided by the Department of Environment and Industrial Hygiene at plant. High noise level was the basis problem that was identified at different plant areas. To occupy this situation, employees working in that areas, were strictly recommended to wear particular PPEs.
