📖 When he was conscripted into National Service in 1966 Jon Anthony had not considered his tranquil life in Australia would be transformed to becoming involved in the violent and historic battle of Long Tan in Vietnam . It was the most illustrious battle Australian soldiers encountered in the Vietnam War where only 108 of them and 3 New Zealanders defended their position against over 2000 North Vietnamese soldiers. Jon becomes romantically involved with a beautiful young Vietnamese trainee doctor but the difference in cultures causes some complications in the relationship. Years after Vietnam in the capacity of Detective in the New South Wales Police Force Jon’s investigation pf a nefarious criminal for the murder of a prostitute is impeded in order to assist his friend and sergeant from Vietnam Jack Kelly against charges for murder.
