📙 Leachate is highly polluted liquid due to high content of ammonium ions and organic compounds. The high ammonia content causes the problem when leachate move downwards from landfill into ground-water table as a result of infiltrated precipitation, ground-water gets contaminated. Once groundwater is contaminated it is very costly to clean-up. The treatment technologies used for the treatment of leachate change from site to site and landfill to landfill due to characteristics change of the leachate. IN this present book a brief review of the methods and technologies used for municipal solid waste & lechate Management are discussed and further the results achieved by a combined electrocoagulation-oxidation of leachate sample is presented.
