🔖 Imagine waking up one morning and the world as you know it is gone - a nuclear war, which began and ended in a matter of hours, has changed everything.
Herbert Goddard, an Australian living in Colombia, wakes up to the news that a nuclear war has taken place somewhere on the planet. Information is sketchy, and he decides to drive from his home in the country to Bogotá, the capital, where he is reunited with his wife, Sara.
Gradually, a picture emerges. Billions of people have perished in what becomes known as the Short World War. The contaminated air leads to a nuclear winter, with temperatures dropping to what might otherwise be commonplace in the Arctic. Getting out of Bogotá now becomes their focus as lawlessness descends on the city with the population struggling for survival.
