📒 This early work by Hermann Sudermann was originally published in 1902. Sudermann was a German novelist and dramatist in the literary school known as naturalism. His first success was with his novel 'Frau Sorge' (1887) in which he details the poverty of life in East Prussia during the late nineteenth century. He went on to many well received plays before his death in1928.
