📗 The diagnosis and assessment of the disease activity is the first step of treatment. It is of vital importance to find new markers that may be more indicative to the disease progression thus, planning a treatment regime that would be more effective. In case of viral hepatitis the most used parameters are PCR tests which is very expansive in addition to ALT level which reflects the viral infection effect on liver cells, whereas for SLE, assessment of ANA and antidsDNA are used. As for renal disease the most frequent assays are measuring the levels of urea and creatinine in the serum.Evidently the present study pointed out that it was of vital importance to find more markers which can help in assessment of disease activity. The results recorded in this study proved the important role of the inflammatory marker CRP more than the usually used markers correlated with the diseases stages in HC and male HB patients and the role of B2m level in SLE and renal groups.
