📗 In the present study biosorption method was used which was quite effective and economical. For this purpose corn cob powder (Zea maize) waste of very popular food crop in Asia was used as biosorbent. The efficiency of Corn Cob for the remediation of Chromium (VI) was studied by varying parameters: pH, temperature, contact time, biosorbent concentration with specified ranges mentioned on experimental work design. It was observed that percentage removal of Cr (VI) from its aqueous solution increased when pH and biosorbent concentration increased and temperature and contact time decreased. Test solutions of known concentration of Cr (VI) were prepared. Percentage reduction was calculated for each experiment. Analysis of Variance was applied to know the significance of certain variables. Values >0.05 were significant. Maximum percentage reduction of Cr (VI) was 98.64.
