📘 Sudden cardiac death is death that is rapid, unexpected and unforeseen both subjectively and objectively that occurs without prior clinical examination in apparently healthy people or in patients during apparent benign phase in course of disease. Sudden cardiac death is unique in that it occurs in apparently healthy people as well as those in various phases of disease of clinically recognized diseases. Autopsy diagnosis of acute lesion in heart, such as early myocardial infarct, can have profound medico legal implications. Histopathological changes in myocardium in sudden cardiac deaths should be a part of autopsy diagnosis.
