📗 Bilingual phenomenon using code mixing and code switching methodology is a frequently observed research activity. Similar activities have been carried out in Indian context in few bilingual situations. The review of literature indicates that (i) Kannada-English bilingual studies in Code mixing and Code switching have produced useful data. (ii) Malayalam-English bilingual adult data is also present. Indian children are getting exposed to English L2 in their ages along with their mother tongue L1. Thus Code switching and Code mixing is not only seen in bilingual adults but also seen in bilingual children. It is evident from the review that there is scarcity of studies about language mixing in bilingual children in India. Also there are no studies in Bhojpuri-English bilingual children till date. Keeping the value of this type of research in view a large population in India who are Bhojpuri-English bilinguals are attempted in this study. study is aimed to investigate code mixing and code switching ability in typically developing 6 - 10 years school going children. This study also aims to find out the influence of L2 (English) on L1 (Bhojpuri).
