🔖 Rev. Peter Hempson Ditchfield (1854-1930) was a Church of England priest, historian and prolific author. Books Fatal to Their Authors was compiled to "honour these scholars of an elder age, little understood by their fellows, who caused them to suffer for the sake of the Truth they loved." Although not all the authors found their writings to be immediately fatal, they suffered greatly for them,
