📓 Pyridone, a saturated or unsaturated form of pyridine with carbonyl group on second carbon has been considered as a magic moiety (wonder nucleus) which possesses almost all types of biological activities. Pyridones are the derivatives of pyridine which belong to an important group of heterocyclic compounds. The cyanopyridone nucleus represents a versatile scaffold to develop new pharmacologically active compounds. The research work embodied in this book is focused on the importance of cyanopyridones derivatives as analogs in the designing of antioxidant and anticonvulsant drugs.
