📒 No One Asked Us is a study of how African-Americans and Latinos are underrepresented on local boards and commissions, both of which play a key role in shaping community life. Drawing upon the author's fieldwork in several Connecticut communities, this book documents how individual and institutional barriers, including racism, work to limit minority representation in civic affairs. It provides strategies to increase the political and civic participation of African Americans and Latinos.
