📒 This book is based on case studies that were conducted at two U.S. publicmasters universities: Kean University and East Stroudsburg University. Each ofthe universities began as a teachers college more than 100 years ago, andthen later became a comprehensive university. Both of their foundations wereestablished in the 1980's and had endowments that were less than $10million in 2005. This book provides insights into the various approaches thatmay be taken to improve foundation board performance particularly as itrelates to their fundraising responsibilities. Twenty-five interviews wereconducted with foundation board members, the university presidents andothers associated with the foundation at these two institutions. This bookreveals what those involved with foundation boards have to say about thecritical factors they believe would increase their performance.
