📗 Although Ben Lomond Mountain has been the same over time, during the last 150 years the family life upon it has changed dramatically. The first European settlers on the mountain were true pioneers, having to deal with making a living, providing basic food and shelter, raising children, and keeping everyone safe for the hazards of the wilderness. They also had to find ways to fill basic human need for companionship and community. As the years passed, the community on Ben Lomond Mountain became known as Bonny Doon. Some aspects of life in Bonny Doon became easier, some harder. Here is a brief look at what we have discovered about the history of family life in Bonny Doon.
