Time and opportunity have not enabled the author to carry it out so completely, in this case, as he would like to have done but he has made, perhaps, a step in the right direction, and hopes that these Rhymes, and the accompanying notes and illustrations, may in duce many of the young people of America to go at work studying up the history of our country with genuine zeal, for the sake of the interest ing things to be found there.
