📘 Schistosomiasis continues to rank-following malaria at the second position of the world's parasitic diseases in terms of the extent of endemic areas and the number of infected people. Chemotherapy is still considered the most effective mean in parasitic control. PZQ is an antischistosomal effective drug which reduces the egg count significantly in S. mansoni infected patients. However, they recorded the evaluation of resistant stains which reduce the effectiveness of such drug. So, it is important to search for alternative antischistosomal and antihelmintic drugs to overcome this important problem. Screening and analyzing natural compounds for their potential activity are among these drugs. This is because of their safety and minimum side effects as compared to that of synthetic drugs. Numerous natural products have been biologically screened for their antischistosomic activity in vitro and in vivo. This study is designed to evaluate the efficacy of 2 certain medically extracts as schistosomicidal agents and examine their effects on the Igs level in experimental mice.
