📖 D'Hericourt (1809-75) was a French-born feminisit activist, writer and a physician-midwife. She lived in the USA from 1863-73 where she was also active in the feminist movement. This influential rebuttal to the sexist essays of the anarchist Proudhon and historian Michelet is reprinted from the American edition of 1864.
