📓 James (1858-1923) emigrated to the US from England as a young man after being ordained as a Methodist minister and became a popular lecturer, photographer, journalist and editor who wrote extensively about the American Southwest and the native American tribes he encountered on his explorations of the area. In this book published in 1907, illustrated with photographs throughout, he expounds on the virtues of certain aspects of the Indian way of life.
