📕 Smith (1838-1915) was an American author, artist and engineer who built the foundation for the Statue of Liberty, wrote many famous stories - two of his novels becoming the bestselling book in the US in the year of their release - and received awards for his paintings. This collection of nine stories was first published in 1905 and includes six illustrations.
