🔖 Wace (1836-1924) was Principal of King's College, London (1883-97) and Dean of Canterbury (1903-24). He wrote, contributed to, and edited many publications on Christian and Ecclesiastical history, most notably the Dictionary of Christian Biography and Literature written in collaboration with William Smith, and was editor of The Churchman, an evangelical Anglican academical journal, from 1902-05. This book of sermons and addresses given during the First World War was published in 1917.
