📖 Gabriele Rossetti (1783-1854) was an Italian poet and scholar who emigrated to England, and who is now best remembered as the father of the artist and co-founder of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and the poet Christina Rossetti. His other son, William Michael, translated this long autobiographical poem and supplemented it with further background information and a selection of his father's letters. First published in 1901.
