📕 Morris (1803-95) was a Lutheran minister who played an influential role in the evolution of the Lutheran church in America. He was also a prolific writer who published hundreds of books, pamphlets and articles on a number of subjects including Martin Luther and the Reformation, and also relating to his study of Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths). This short biography of von Brora (1499-1552), the wife of Martin Luther, recognises her as one of the most important participants of the Reformation because of her role in helping to define Protestant family life and setting the tone for clergy marriages. First published in 1856.
