📙 Danilevski (1829-90) was a Russian historical novelist. This fictionalised account of the life of Princess Tarakanova (c. 1745-75), a pretender to the Russian throne who claimed to be the daughter of Elizabeth of Russia, was first published in the original Russian language edition in 1883.
