📕 This book is dedicated to the memory of the departed descendants of John Glasse of Taunton, Somerset, England, who braved the dangers of a transatlantic crossing in the early 1600s in search of religious liberty and a safer more prosperous life, who wrested an existence from the forests and rocky hills of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont, who traveled the Great Lakes region in search of arable land to sustain growing families, who fought in the Civil War for the Union, who followed the expansion of the transcontinental railroad that opened the West, and who labored in the emerging trades of the early 20th Century, so that we, the living descendants of John Glasse can enjoy the safety, comforts, and peace of the 21st Century.
May we, the living, do as well by our descendants.
