🔖 Robert Charles Durman Mitchum, born on August 6th, 1917, Bridgeport, Connecticut, U.S, was a movie actor, director, author, poet, composer, and singer. Mitchum became famous for his starring roles in several classic films noir, being generally regarded as a forerunner of the antiheroes in movies of the '50s and '60s. His best-known films include Out of the Past (1947), The Night of the Hunter (1955), and Cape Fear (1962). Robert was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for The Story of GI Joe (1945). Mitchum was ranked # 23 on the American Film Institute's list of the greatest male stars of Classic American Cinema.
