📘 The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the Soviet Communist Party constitute Lenin's priceless legacy to mankind. It was Lenin who created the Party, led it through three revolutions to the helm of government, and headed the world's first socialist state. Lenin's genius made it possible for Soviet Russia and the rest of humanity to enter a new historical era. "So vast was the scope of Lenin's thinking and activity, so fully did he understand and express the urgent needs of his time, that even now his ideas are a mighty weapon in the hands of those who are struggling for the happiness of peoples. There is not a spot on earth where Lenin's name does not resound as an ardent call to fight oppression, lawlessness and exploitation; everywhere his name stands for militant unity and assurance of victory in the historic battle for communist ideals" — said Leonid Brezhnev in his report on the occasion of Lenin's centenary. Lenin has played an enormous part in Moscow's development, setting in motion a new series of events.
