📙 This is a collection of articles by Konstantin Stanislavsky, the outstanding Russian stage director, actor and theorist, selected to acquaint the reader with all the periods of his activity. Stanislavsky's articles, speeches, conversations, reminiscences and public addresses disclose the road he followed in art, show the shaping and the evolution of his views, and at the same time give a very interesting characterisation of Stanislavsky as an outstanding figure in Russia's public life. To Stanislavsky belongs the honour of devising the theory of theatrical art, and of being the first to discover the objective laws of stage performance.
